New Zealand most free???

[edit]

Where does the rating for the most free countries come from? I would dispute that New Zealand is the most politically free country, if you look at the Electoral Finance Act. Drkshadowmaster Contributions Talk Page 01:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you tried looking at the reference given? We're listing rankings from international organisations here, not personal opinions.-gadfium 06:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Covid Ranking

[edit]

I would like to promote NZ at ranking near the top, but I know an edit will be removed without citation. Would anyone know where this reference be found? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.226.148.187 (talk) 09:57, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The rankings already llisted are ones which are updated annually or even less frequently. Rankings do not usually change very much even over those time periods. The pandemic is different, with the ranking of countries, whether measured by cases, deaths, or cases/deaths per million, changing substantially over relatively short periods of time. There's also the problem that countries report cases and deaths according to different criteria from each other; some include suspected cases in their totals, some only include deaths in hospitals and rest homes, some may minimise the figures, and some just don't know because there's little testing. The Wikipedia article which provides maps and tables comparing countries is COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory. In short, I don't think it should be covered here.-gadfium 19:38, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
